Has anyone else had issues with setting files to CHMOD 444 on Siteground?
I was having a Error 500 today, had to change the configuration.php to 644 to edit the display_errors, but then couldn't change the file permissions back to 444 from 644. Even if I select 444 as the permission, it won't save as that and sets back to 644. The file manager gives an error "Invalid file permission".
I can't set 444 in either Sitegrounds file manager or in FileZilla.
Just wanted to check before going to Siteground.
Is there any "safe" fall-back permission e..g. 644 for configuration.php even though Joomla documentation recommends 444?
Thanks.
Updated: Resolved - I had to force the permission setting in Akeeba Admin Tools. Still don't know why Siteground or FileZilla wouldn't honour the setting I was trying to use.
