Thanks for sharing the URL of the site. Yes, indeed I notice the behavior you explained. I believe that it may have to do with language assignment.

When time permits, I do not mind looking into the site's back-end to review how things are setup.

What I would suggest is to install Akeeba Backup (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/akeeba-backup/) and take a backup. Copy the backup created to a place where it can be downloaded from. Send me a PM with a link to download the backup created by Akeeba. This way, I could review the site throughly without making changes to the actual site.
