If you already have Debug and Error Reporting on, can you post all specific error messages you see, if any, (on screen) or from the error log file? FPA indicates these are already set to On.
It sounds like an incompatible extension with Joomla 4.4 (which was released in Oct 2023) is causing or contributing to the Error 500.
Is your active front-end template Shaper Helix 3.0.3 (from 2022 or earlier). M aybe it's only for Joomla 3.10, and not 4.4. Change the template back to Cassiopeia through the database (go to the templates table, and change one from "1" to "0" and the other from "0" to "1".
There are later releases of Helix template that would be more suitable for Joomla 4.x.
What are you using to back up your site (you say the backups are corrupt), but the FPA doesn't list Akeeba Backup (as one example)? Did you simply export from database directly with phpMyAdmin?
